Business Founded 1991

BMC was founded by Brendan Meehan in Brookville, Ashbourne, marking the beginning of a company built on innovation, craftsmanship, and reliability. From humble beginnings, Brendan’s vision was to create a business that combined technical excellence with a strong commitment to quality and customer service. What started as a small local operation has grown into a trusted name in the electrical engineering and manufacturing sector, known for delivering exceptional products and long-term value to clients

First Factory

As demand for BMC’s products and services grew, the company relocated to the Ashbourne Industrial Estate to support increased production capacity. This move marked a significant milestone in BMC’s growth, providing the space and resources needed to expand operations, invest in new technologies, and strengthen its manufacturing capabilities.

1998

Second Factory

BMC moved to Ashtech House on Ballybin Road, Ashbourne — a purpose-built facility designed specifically to meet the company’s growing operational needs. This custom-built headquarters represented a major investment in the future of BMC, enabling greater efficiency, improved production flow, and enhanced capabilities to serve an expanding client base. The move solidified BMC’s position as a leading manufacturer with a focus on quality, innovation, and long-term sustainability.

2000

Edesk365

BMC commenced development of the Edesk365 platform — a custom digital solution designed to enhance project management, client communication, and operational efficiency. The platform was created to streamline workflows, improve transparency, and provide real-time access to project data, reflecting BMC’s ongoing commitment to innovation and continuous improvement across all areas of the business.

ISO 9001:2000

BMC achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification from the British Standards Institute (BSI), demonstrating the company’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality management. 2004

10MW UPS Solution

BMC successfully delivered Ireland’s largest ever containerised UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) solution, with a total capacity of 10MW. This landmark project showcased BMC’s technical expertise, engineering capability, and ability to execute large-scale, complex solutions. The achievement reinforced the company’s reputation as a trusted industry leader in delivering high-performance, bespoke power systems for mission-critical applications

6S Lean Manufacturing

BMC introduced the 6S Lean Manufacturing process as part of its ongoing commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement. By implementing the principles of Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety, BMC enhanced workplace efficiency, reduced waste, and strengthened its culture of quality. Cairo Office

L4G

Kells Factory

BMC expanded its manufacturing capabilities with the addition of a new 20,000 sq. ft. factory in Kells Industrial Park. This state-of-the-art facility was established to meet increasing demand and support the company’s continued growth. The new site enhances BMC’s production capacity, enables greater efficiency, and provides the space needed to implement advanced manufacturing technologies — further strengthening BMC’s position as a leading provider of high-quality electrical solutions

2024

Site D Ashbourne

BMC acquired Site D in Ashbourne for the development of its new corporate headquarters — a major step in the company’s long-term growth strategy. The new HQ is designed to bring together advanced manufacturing, engineering, and administrative functions under one state-of-the-art facility. Full planning permission was granted in 2025, paving the way for the next phase of BMC’s evolution as a modern, innovative, and sustainability-focused organisation

2024

B2 Ballycoolin

BMC expanded its operations with the addition of B2 Ballycoolin — a 65,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility designed to accommodate increased production demand and advanced manufacturing processes. This major investment provided enhanced capacity for large-scale projects, integration of modern technologies, and improved workflow efficiency. The Ballycoolin facility reflects BMC’s commitment to continuous growth, innovation, and delivering excellence at every stage of production

IBM Building 1 & 2

BMC further strengthened its manufacturing capabilities with the addition of a 165,000 sq. ft. facility in Damastown. This significant expansion represents one of the company’s largest investments to date, providing the space and technology required to support continued growth and large-scale production. The Damastown facility is equipped to handle complex, high-volume projects, reinforcing BMC’s reputation for quality, innovation, and industry leadership
