The Role

We are hiring a Payroll Assistant to join our People and Culture team in a large manufacturing environment, supporting the payroll of approximately 300 employees across weekly and monthly pay cycles. Reporting to the Payroll Lead, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers and values accuracy.



Responsibilities

  • Supporting the accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly payrolls

  • Collecting, checking, and inputting timesheets, overtime, and shift allowances

  • Maintaining accurate employee payroll records, including tax, benefits, and personal details

  • Assisting with new starter and leaver payroll processing

  • Acting as the first point of contact for employee payroll queries and pay discrepancies

  • Supporting payroll reconciliations and reporting at month-end and year-end

  • Ensuring payroll processes comply with Irish payroll legislation, including Revenue requirements

  • Preparing and maintaining payroll documentation and records in line with GDPR standards

  • Carry out other duties within the People and Culture Department as the need arises.



Requirements

  • Previous experience in a payroll assistant, payroll clerk, or similar role

  • Experience working with payroll software (e.g. Sage, Dayforce, Gusto, or similar)

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel

  • Numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail

  • Familiarity with Irish payroll processes (PAYE, PRSI, USC) is highly desirable

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent required

  • Further education or training in accounting, finance, or business is an advantage
